Pentecost Sunday - May 19, 2024

Pentecost celebrates the Holy Spirit descending upon the Apostles, as Jesus said it would. Many recognize Pentecost as the birth of the Church.Red is the official Church color for Pentecost, symbolizing the fire of the Holy Spirit.Pentecost falls 50 days after Easter and 10 days after the Ascension. This important event in the Christian faith is described in the Acts of the Apostles (Acts 2:1–31), the fifth book of the New Testament

 Women's Ministry

Come and join us! Everyone in the community is invited. You do not have to be a member of our church to be a part of the women's ministry.

 Bible Study

The next Bible Study will be May 14 at 1:00 p.m. We are continuing with  the Gospel According to Luke and the book of the Acts of the Apostles, or Luke-Acts, “one story in two parts,” demonstrate the unfolding of God’s redemptive purposes in human history and present a distinctive perspective on the person and work of Jesus Christ. Written by Luke, a physician and traveling companion of Paul, the message to the early Christian community (and to us) is radical, inclusive, and hope-filled. Our Bible studies are open to the public.

 General Meeting on May 14 - 2:00 p.m.

Time to put the finishing touches on plans for the May 19th soup luncheon for the congregation.  We have five new prayer quilts and a new label for them for everyone to see.

So many boxes full of items requested by the Presbyterian Home for Children in Monticello from our generous congregation.  These will be on their way to the orphanage at the end of April.

Don't forget that we take a summer break in July and August, so no meetings.  Plans for the fall mission projects will be completed as soon as we return.
